Jewelry Dresser

Inspired by the claw-foot tub in my childhood bathroom¹ and the myth of Baba Yaga², the Jewelry Dresser is a scaled down version of a design originally intended for a commode. There are four main compartments in the steel body, two external side pockets, and four rods at the back of the compartments that allow necklaces to rest upright, preventing tangling and unnecessary crowding. Depression era jadeite hardware and cast iron feet belonging to a 19th century stove are mechanically attached to the body. This design's cryptic style blends antiquated decoration and simple lines to create an enigmatic accent piece.
